Vintage Finds

So I've never been one to obsess over vintage household items like teacups, tableclothes and French Provincial chairs;

I've always been the girl who goes straight for the modern pieces;

(Our last house we built and sadly sold)

However, in the last year my tastes seem to of spun a 360 and i now obsess over hamptons style furnishings, gorgeous chandeliers (preferably for my next bathroom or study) and Villa Maison styling products.

So in planning for my next event, the Butterfly Tea Party, i find myself searching for vintage tea sets.  Hubby wonders what i'll do with all these mismatched sets once the event is over................

My answer..................buy an elegant glass cabinet to show them of in of course!

A touch of grace

Back to weddings today as my sister gets closer to securing a date for her wedding next year.  She's always been a bit of a beach babe so my posting today entangles Tiffany Blue hues with a touch of Audrey Hepburn (just because i've always loved her and her grace and style would be perfect for any bride to be).

Tea Party

Don't you love a good tea party, one of those lovely girly ones where you can have a great chat with your best girlfriends and of course, consume the most devine indulgent food.  I've been to my fair share of high teas over the last few years and now I'll be hosting one of my own in my very own backyard in less than a month.  It's sure to have alot of pink as being the only girl in the family, I don't get to splurge on the pink theme very often!  Its also a charity event for a great cause so I suppose we have a very good excuse to indulge more at this one!

Great to be Green

Don't you love how something so simple can become such an inspiration.  I met a good friend of mine at the park the other week and her gorgeous little baby girl was dressed in a simple Wondersuit but the colour was amazing......a gorgeous deep emerald green.  I would love to plan a party with this colour, just gorgeous.

Jake's Birthday

So my youngest son turned 3 and friday and as I posted earlier I decided to have a last minute party for him.  It ended up larger than I expected being on a friday afternoon, but that generally happens so I should of expected it!  It was a lovely afternoon with great friends, a few games for the kids, pizza making and of course a wine or two for the Mums and Dads.

One birthday down for the year, now onto a few other projects.......will post about these later.

Mumprenuers

So today I attended a Mumprenuers Masterclass Seminar run by the delightful Penny from Sshh Mummys on the Phone.  Three very inspiring ladies spoke including Sunny Mummy herself Stacey Sullivan, Peekaboo magazine publisher, Bianca and Nikki from Styling You.

Apart from gaining some much needed motivation and walking out with a smile on my face, the main advice I took away from today was that:

1.  You must not compare yourself to your competitiors - I am who I am and I can't keep looking at other event planners/stylists that are already successfully in the public eye and think 'I could never do that'.  Nikki from Styling You really summed it up by saying 'You are who you are, don't shy away from it'.  I think the marketplace is big enough for all kinds of businesses and its important to stay positive and continue on your own path instead of dreaming and comparing yourself to someone elses journey.

2.  Play Nice - At the end of the day, us Mummys are all here to do what we love, enjoy what we do and hopefully at the end of it all, make a little extra cash on the side to buy some shoes.  It's important to connect to similar minded Mums in this world whom we can rely on and talk with to stay positive.

A lovely lady I met at the masterclass was Naomi from Seven Cherubs.  Seven children and a very dedicated blogger, what a women.....i'm so inspired by what she achieves and will be closely following her blog from now on!

So after a very positive day with these amazing ladies, I am now preparing for my son's birthday party tomorrow.  I'm busily icing cakes, wrapping presents, adding ribbon and creating styling accessories.....just how I like it.................................

Ships Ahoy

I am literally throwing together a 3rd birthday party for my gorgeous second son, Jake.  I've chosen a Nautical theme inspired by his room which has many sailboats and some cute invitations I purchased by Mecollie Designs.  My plan is to create something like this but with only 3 days to pull it together on a tight budget i'm just not sure.......stay tuned.....

Happy Mums Day!

What a wonderful day to celebrate, we all deserve a little time off after doing so much throughout the year for everyone else don't we....a little shopping, some champagne, fabulous food and of course great company.

So tonight, 54 of us celebrated in style at Espial Interiors and Gifts in Camp Hill.  I would like to do a big sing out to the wonderful Heidi from Espial and gorgeous Esther from In A Pickle who provided us with an array of beautiful finger food.  Thank you girls, without your wonderful inspiring selves, the event would not of been the success it was!

'Heidi & Esther'

I'd like to do a big shout out to the following amazing talented ladies who were so kind to lend us props and donate gifts to raffle off at the event; Sharnel from Sharnel Dollar Designs, Roberta from Green and Bloom Flowers, Steph from Fitness Done Different and Jade from Idyllic Beauty.  It was lovely to meet you all and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Last but certainly not least, I want to send a big virtual hug to my event styling sidekick, interior guru and gorgeous friend Jo (HausStylish).....your amazing x

Excitement plus

I can hardly contain my excitement!  Tomorrow is our first big function for the year and I'm hoping its the one that could start my little portfolio of events planning.

The flowers have been arranged (by Jo of Haus Stylish), ribbons attached to everything (and I mean everything!), labels created, champagne chilled and some fabulous event stylists have donated wonderful products.

I'll post up some pictures of the event early this week!

I feel like doing a little dance just to celebrate the start of something wonderful.......x

Flowers, food and fun

We are right in the middle of getting everything sorted for my son's kindy Mothers Day Event on Saturday.  Some fantastic suppliers such as Roberta from Green & Bloom and Sharnel Dollar Events have provided us with wonderful styling products to help us out - thank you so much girls!

So the challenge is to set up a beautiful table on Saturday afternoon.  I have made some tissue pom poms....not to take anything away from Daneve from Ah Tissue but as we're a not for profit kindy, we are on a tight budget!  Nowhere near what she can do but here's my attempt:

Roberta from Green and Bloom has lent us some fabulous drink dispensers which Jo and I will be making homemade lemonade to fill them with.

The invitations looked like this and I think has really set the scene for a great event.....more pics to follow after the event.

Wishing you all a very Happy Mothers Day however you may be celebrating!
